Houston Center for Vascular Health staff will conduct research in the prevention and treatment of Peripheral Vascular Disease and Peripheral Arterial Disease. The center will be the regional hub for the most creative and innovative research protocols to help patients with vascular diseases. HCVH is in the preliminary process of starting two industry protocols. The first protocol is for patients with CAD and is a medical device study for the cardiac catheterization lab called orbital artherectomy to mechanically modify coronary plaques. The second protocol is for subjects with PAD and is a post approval study to confirm safety and efficacy of a vascular stent system.
